We need Medicaid expansion to maintain our rural hospitals and clinics.

"If elected governor, I will accept the 2 billion dollar Medicaid expansion money that has already been allocated to the state of Mississippi.

Education

"Why is it that our children spend 12 and 13 years in school and come out with a 5th or 6th grade education?

The politicians told us that if we legalized alcohol, that would fund education. That didn't happen.

Next they said if we legalized gambling, that would surely fund education. That hasn't happened.

People... we cannot drink and gamble our way to prosperity. We need good jobs and a well educated workforce."

Jackson is in Crisis

We are down from 400 police officers to a frightening level of 169 police officers and it is not safe to drive on our own "so-called" streets.

We have an infrastructure that is falling apart and it will not fix itself.

We have too many problems facing this city and our state to not be actively persuing solutions and putting people in charge who will actually get it done.

I will get Mayor Charles Evers, who is a good friend of our President, to ask him to come back to Jackson and meet with us so I can ask him for help. After all, Mississippi is still the poorest state in the United States.
